Note-Taker
2013
To take notes in class, students with visual impairments must rapidly switch between writing their near sight notes and viewing a far sight board at the classroom.
Current assistive technologies does not support rapid switching between the two.
The Note-Taker lets users view live video through a camera on a laptop and take notes on its split screen interface.
Users comments such as “It should have a smart look. Not like typical medical devices which will make me look like weird”, or “ Don’t make me look like a Martian” lead the project toward a study of stigma.
