Pop-Air, Fun & Healing
2011
A user centered design.
The project was conducted in Swan, a rehab center that works on post stroke restoration.
Collaborating with two designers, we conducted observations and interviews with users and the therapists at the Swan center.
Literature showed that while repetition of movement increase recovery, it can be boring at the same time.
Therefore the objective was to create challenging and engaging rehabilitation tool that motivate patients in their activities.
The device was a pop-air toy that shots balls by user's arm-pumping.
The designed prototype was tested by some participants and therapists at the Swan Center, whose feedback helped optimize the prototype.
